Purchased greeting cards

 

 

 

 

Card
  • Purchased Calendars, Greeting Cards & Envelopes

Cards and envelopes purchased as a product are designated in BC and SK only. The protective film packaging around greeting cards and envelopes are reported in all provinces.

Envelope

Examples include: wrapping paper, gift bags, ribbons, bows, gift boxes, etc.

Protective film

For MMSW, MMSM and Stewardship Ontario, gift bags, ribbons, bows, gift boxes, plastic or plastic/foil gift wrap sold as a product are not designated.  However, these items provided to the consumer as service packaging should be included in your steward report.

For Recycle BC, gift bags, loot bags and gift boxes purchased as a product must be reported including the packaging associated with these products

Wrapping paper purchased as a product by a residential consumer in BC/SK should be reported as Paper for General Use.

Paper-based wrapping paper supplied as service packaging at point of purchase should be reported as Boxboard and Other Paper Packaging in all programs.

Plastic or plastic/foil wrapping paper supplied as service packaging at point of purchase should be reported as Plastic Laminates – Non-Beverage.

Paper/plastic based wrapping paper that is supplied as service packaging at point of purchase should be reported as Paper Laminates.

For Hang Tags, ensure the hang tag and attachment are reported separately.

Report Natural and Synthetic Textiles in Ontario only.
