Determining Your Obligation

Producers need to determine if they are obligated to register and report their organization’s supplied designated materials under provincial extended producer responsibility (EPR) regulations.

Producer/steward obligation is based on three key factors:

• Residency
• Hierarchy of responsibility i.e. brand owner, first importer, retailer and/or franchisor
• Supply of designated materials to consumers
