The Circular Materials Onboarding Team held an Onboarding Webinar for Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) Members on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at 1-2 p.m. EST.

Circular Materials and the Health Products Stewardship Association (HPSA) have been collaborating to advance common goals and share best practices for the management and recycling of materials specific to each organization’s mandate. For Circular Materials, this includes packaging and paper materials (PPP), and for HSPA, it encompasses health products, including medications and medical sharps.

The webinar focused on extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations across Canada related to the recycling of packaging materials, such as paper instructions, cardboard boxes and plastic pill bottles that accompany medications and medical sharps. Information about Circular Materials programs in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, Alberta and the Yukon was also included.
